REVIVE + THRIVE | Building Stronger Partnerships for Denver’s Districts

Denver’s business districts are where big ideas meet everyday realities. They are the places where people open businesses, gather with friends, welcome visitors, navigate construction, celebrate culture, manage public spaces, and work through the practical challenges of keeping great places thriving.

That is why the Denver BID Council’s 2026 Revive + Thrive event brought together BIDs, GIDs, City leaders, department staff, elected officials, and community partners for a focused conversation about how we can work better together.

The goal was simple: strengthen collaboration between Denver’s business districts and City departments so that communication is clearer, processes are easier to navigate, and shared priorities can move forward with more trust, coordination, and follow-through.

Throughout the day, participants explored what is working, where districts are getting stuck, and how BIDs and GIDs can be better recognized as on-the-ground partners in creating safe, active, welcoming, and economically vibrant commercial areas. The conversations highlighted the importance of early communication, consistent points of contact, clearer reporting pathways, and more opportunities for City staff and district leaders to problem-solve together before issues become bigger challenges.

The event also helped shape the next phase of work: a practical Playbook for Districts Doing Business in Denver. This resource will help clarify how business districts can work with City departments, identify who to contact for common issues, and outline better ways to coordinate around planning, permitting, public space, safety, health, mobility, and business support.

Revive + Thrive is not just a one-day event. It is part of a larger effort to build a stronger working relationship between Denver’s districts and the City. With continued leadership from BID and GID directors, City departments, elected officials, and community partners, Denver has an opportunity to create a more coordinated, responsive, and business-friendly system that helps every district thrive.
