Metro Area Mobile Tour – BID, DDA, URA – Erie, Lafayette, Louisville, Superior

Many Colorado communities are curious about districts and authorities that can focus on redevelopment, reuse, and place management in downtown or commercial areas. Business Improvement Districts (BIDs), Downtown Development Authorities (DDAs), and Urban Renewal Authorities (URAs) are among the key tools that municipalities can use to implement their vision through public-private partnerships. But what are the differences between these tools? How are they formed, governed, and how do they work? Could one of these be the right fit to support downtown development in your community?

Why sit in a conference room when you can hit the road and explore real-world examples? The Colorado Municipal League (CML) and Downtown Colorado, Inc. (DCI) are excited to present the sixth annual Metro Mobile Tour, happening on Thursday, September 11, 2025.

This year’s tour will depart from Denver, and visit Erie, Lafayette, Louisville, and Superior, where we’ll visit active BIDs, DDAs, and URAs. This interactive, on-the-ground experience will highlight how these tools operate, collaborate, and plan for the future.

Join CML and DCI as we invite municipal leaders, staff, and stakeholders to explore innovative projects and hear directly from the people driving success across Colorado.
