Downtown Colorado, Inc., in partnership with Futures United Network (FUN), is a recipient of a United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Business Development Grant to develop an Experience Economy initiative in rural communities throughout Colorado. The project will assist rural Colorado businesses in gaining a competitive edge through experience design and marketing to attract tourists, visitors, and potential residents. DCI has selected four partner communities for the 2019-2020 year: Brush, Lamar, Silverton, and Trinidad. Through an application process, businesses located in these four communities may apply to receive Experience Economy services and support from DCI and FUN.
DCI and FUN will select 3-6 businesses from each community to develop a unique regional plan based on community assets and local experiences with the goal of helping local businesses and local entrepreneurs take advantage of and tap into this growing Experience Economy market.
