Downtown Colorado, Inc. Now a Certified AICP Certificate Maintenance Credit Provider
DCI Partners with APA Colorado
DENVER -- August 4, 2011 -- Downtown Colorado, Inc. (DCI), a nonprofit membership organization committed to building better communities through educational and technical assistance to downtowns, commercial districts and town centers, is pleased to announce the organization is now a certified AICP certificate maintenance (CM) credit provider. DCI is additionally partnering with APA Colorado to provide additional membership benefits to our members.
DCI holds 16 annual educational events, including an annual 3-day conference. The 2011 Annual Conference, Cultivate, Collaborate & Celebrate: Growing the Economy from the Bottom Up, will be held on September 21-23 in Durango, Colorado. The three days of conference sessions will focus on a variety of revitalization topics that affect Colorado communities, including economic development, community engagement, business attraction, business incubation, youth engagement, tourism, building collaborations, planning topics, and more. The conference is open to members (for a discounted price) and non-members alike. There are 20 CM credits available at this year's conference.
DCI additionally holds two-hourDevelopment and Improvement Districts (DIDs) Forumsin Denver each month for DCI members only. The forums provide a venue to address topics that affect business improvement districts (BIDs), downtown development authorities (DDAs), and urban renewal authorities (URAs) in Colorado. Each session is led by a panel of experts in the chosen topic and encourages discussion among attendees. Each forum provides 2.0 CM credits. Past DIDs forums this year have also received credit retroactively.

"We are thrilled to be able to partner with APA Colorado and to serve as an AICP credit provider as this is a wonderful opportunity to serve our members and provide an added dimension to their DCI membership."
DCI members will also receive APA member rates at Colorado APA's annual conference. APA Colorado members will also receive DCI membership rates when attending the 2011 DCI Annual Conference.
