August 8: Urban Renewal Strategy Session. Each year, there are questions presented to the legislature about Urban Renewal, how it works, how reporting should be done, and how best to manage this tool. This interim period is the time for Urban Renewal leaders to come together and develop a plan that works for practitioners and provides our state’s leaders with a better understanding of the need for Urban Renewal in Colorado. Join us for this special discussion session sponsored by Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck LLP to weigh in on a strategy for urban renewal in the coming year. To assist DCI and our partners in demonstrating the need for urban renewal, please take a moment to share some short descriptions of: Projects That Couldn't Happen Without TIF. While the state debates how best to help the economy, the development community and those working to revitalize their communities know that Tax Increment Financing (TIF) makes redevelopment possible. Communities with access to this tool are able to provide incentives for development that make public-private partnerships work. Share your stories on how this tool works for Colorado today by filling out a brief case study!

Please note that the August DIDs forum will start at 12:30PM and lunch will be sponsored by Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, LLP.
