Downtown Colorado, Inc. (DCI) technical assistance programs serve as a platform through which local communities are able to harness and leverage financial investment in their downtowns. Since 2005, DCI has provided services to 49 communities around the state. In 2010, DCI worked with 17 communities who were able to leverage an average $3,000 community-investment to harness over to $26,000 in services from DCI Membership to assist communities’ downtown initiatives.

For each $1.00 of community investment,
$5.50 in technical services are generated!

Focusing on current conditions in the downtown, downtown assessment visits provide valuable information about the strengths and opportunities of the downtown and create the foundation and a plan of action for the community to engage its members and realize the economic potential without losing the character and charm that makes it unique.

Eligibility

Downtown Colorado, Inc. can provide a form of technical assistance for all communities, large and small,  rural and urban, resort or farming, and rich or poor. However, DCI prides itself in tailoring each program to meet the unique needs of individual communities. Costs

As a non-profit organization, DCI has worked hard to develop a technical assistance program that provides training to Colorado communities for tens of thousands of dollars less than the cost of market rate consulting services. To accomplish this, DCI selects a team of professionals from our membership base to volunteer their extremely valuable time and specialized revitalization expertise. However, there are still many administrative fees necessary to provide the community a training, finished report and action plan.

 Most assessment services range from $2,500-$10,000 plus team member expenses. Costs of services are variable and depend on services requested, length of visit, skills required, population, community income levels, and scholarship availability.

Agenda

Schedules will vary in length from a half-day to three days depending upon the needs of the community. Additional time will be added for travel, preparation and report writing. Teams will consist of one to eight people. Actual expenses will be added to the quoted cost. Most of the sample subjects listed will require a two-day visit minimum. Panel discussions or trainings may require a half to full day.

Application Process
