Scholarships are available to local governments with a population of less than 50,000 and a median household income of less than $47,203, according to the 2000 U.S. Census data. (This can be verified at www.census.gov.) DCI will reimburse 50% of travel and registration costs, not to exceed $100 for the Downtown Institute. How to look up your eligibility:
1. Go to http://factfinder2.census.gov/faces/nav/jsf/pages/index.xhtml
2. To look up population:
a. Go to Topic or Table Name under Quick Start (see screenshot below)
b. Under Topic or Table Name, enter QT-P3
c. Under State, County or Place, enter [City], Colorado, e.g., Golden, Colorado, and hit Go
d. You will get Search Results showing links to two population tables: 2000 and 2010 (see second screenshot below)
e. Select the second table labeled 2000. This data will be used through November 30, 2012.
f. Select Print or Download to save table.
3. To look up income:
a. Go to Topic or Table Name under Quick Start (see screenshot below)
b. If you just did another search, be sure to select "Clear all selections” under "Your Selections” box in top left corner
c. Under Topic or Table Name, enter P053 (That’s a zero, not an "O”)
d. Under State, County or Place, enter [City], Colorado, e.g., Golden, Colorado, and hit Go
e. You will get Search Results showing one link to 1999 income table.
f. Select Print or Download to save table.
